Creation of the Claeyssens Distillery
In 1998, the Claeyssens distillery was acquired by the Depasse family, which owns the Grandes Distilleries de Charleroi.
It was an opportunity to diversify production with the launch of the Wambrechies Whisky and to expand the range by producing Loos Genever (following the acquisition of the Loos distillery) and flavoured cocktails.
In 1999, the Distillery was entirely listed as a “Historical Monument” then labelled “Tourism Quality” to develop the tourism activity.
